I, Alex Price, owner of A.D. Price Metalcraft, am an artist, blacksmith, steel fabricator, welder and designer specialist in handforged, bespoke steelwork or fabricated steelwork. My work ranges from small to large scale. My workshop is an old blacksmith's forge built in 1885 with three working hearths situated at The National Waterways Museum on the Wirral in Cheshire.I have served my time as a steel fabricator-welder in East London, I've worked for blacksmiths in South Wales,Plymouth,Herefordshire and North Wales. I achieved my OND and HND in metalcrafts which involved jewellery, silversmithing and blacksmithing. I also have a two year National Certificate in blacksmithing at Hereford Technical College and I have a BA Honours degree in Art and Design at Camberwell College in London. I have been a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen and I also provide blacksmithing classes in my workshop.

Finishes for any steelwork can vary from a polished 'gun metal' look to painted using various paints and colours but the standard finish for steelwork is the metal being galvanized where the steelwork is dipped in molten zinc of which solidifies on the metal surface when pulled out and this prevents any steelwork from rusting. After galvanizing,the work can be painted or powder coated to any desired colour. I have sent my work all over Britain.A.D.
